I’ve only been a forum member for two and a half months and I brought home my first ever CS yesterday! I took the leap with this beautiful 73 Chamonix / Red survivor. We had a wonderful drive home along the Pacific Ocean and through the Santa Cruz mountains. It’s an unaltered unrestored car that has had a repaint. It’s clearly been garaged and loved all of it’s life and is in amazing condition. A big shout out to @wkohler for the lead and @OCCoupe for showing the car, doing a very thorough PPI and fluid refresh. He searched every secret rust cavity and only found a little surface rust on one spot on a frame rail and up in the front fender cavities. Also thanks to @Markos for other leads and advise along the way and sfdon for a crash course in all things E9 but especially engines. I feel very lucky that with everyone’s help I found this car in Monterey CA only 90 miles from me. That made it possible to see and acquire it during this difficult time.

Congrats Norm! Guess it’s a good thing the seller of that Fjord car gave you my number! Beautiful car.

I have those same kick-panel speakers but in round -- love them. Congrats on the new set of keys and now is the perfect time to log in those priceless miles.

Windows down of course!

The car did win the 2018 Legends of the Autobahn. It won for clean originality over pricier restorations. I forgot to ask the PO for the award which should definitely come with the car. I will load more photos from the PO once I down load them all. In the meantime here are some some professional studio art shots that are pure car porn.

Norm, You bought a lovely e9 that you will certainly enjoy over the many years to come. At Legends we don't judge originality but yours certainly has that other than the Webers as I recall. It is all based on cleanliness and there were four coupes judged in 2018 and another unjudged dozen parked with them in our corral. I hope you bring it back in 2021 to hang out with the many other friendly coupe owners. In 2016 for the 100th Anniversary we had over fifty coupes present. Again, congrats.
