Looks dramatically different than the smaller boot.
That boot is for a much later car, Getrags don’t have one.
I put one in my coupe to try to keep heat and noise out. I'm not sure what it came from but I own an E28 and have owned an E24 and it could be from either one of those.

CV joints’ boot can do the trick
not saying that the coupe boot has the right size but you might be able to find something in that field

No sign of a rubber boot on my 4spd ZF. It doesn’t look to be particularly necessary either.

e9 had foam between body and shift tower. no rubber boot. just leather as seen.
I used the CV boot from a VW, it's thicker than the ones I've seen on the G265-5's in e24's. I think it quiets things down a little- it also stops my coffee from spilling onto the road and harming the asphalt.

Gary, I think it was from an 87 Scirocco but I think any boot would do, you can make it fit by trimming the wider end and pushing it through the shifter hole from the top-
