Right now, the only things I can squeeze in my garage are my:

- 55 Chevy Nomad
- 70 280SL
- 71 E9

If I had more room, I would have at least kept my 63 15w Split window vw bus.

I had a '64 VW bus. A plain jane two-tone, cream over minty green with the original 40hp engine. I delivered pizza in it for a while before going back to a bug. Would have liked to keep it, but would have been sold years later when I moved to Hawaii where I bought my 2800CS.

Well, I was thinking about selling my coupe and buying a new GT4 but I've decided I just can't let her go. So now I'm going to be listing my euro six on BaT and planning on getting a nice 6 speed Cayman if things go well. This one was listed yesterday, l love the color combo!

Vince, i love the 987 cayman s ... but i like the 2009+ 987c2. a few more HP and some nicer options especially technology in the PCM. when you look at the price of replacing a clutch on a P car, the pdk of the c2 solves that and is a fantastic tranny. btw, i like the 987 so much more than the newer 981 with its electronic steering ... and the 987 has better visibility out of the back of the car

I do want a Cayman S as well. Would 2012 be the best of the last Scott?

Thanks Scott! I'll be reaching out to you for advice before I do anything.

I'm looking through the list here and thinking everyone is too reasonable. If we are dreaming, I'll take a Miura SV, an McLaren F1, an F40 and probably my favorite, a Calif Swb spyder... Oh, if there's anything left in my dream bank, I'll take a A6GCS/53...

Ahh! I just remembered a car that I think I'd take over the F40! The Maserati MC12 Corsa. Saw this one in person at Retromobile in Feb 2020. It was next to an Enzo, F40, F50 and a 288GTO and outshone them all... Utterly gorgeous and a very successful race car.

In 2009, I saw a street MC12 parked on the street in Monaco. So lovely.

They are so beautiful, and rare. One of the factors that really surprised me was the length of the car. Built for ground effects, they are quite imposing. I shudder to think of the vehicular ballet it would take to wheel it around Monaco...

so many of that type of car i don't / can't fit in. while i'm only 6'-3, i am tall from the waist up ... glad i'm not as tall as @HB Chris or @Stevehose or i would really be in trouble. i have no problem in the 997 (911) or 987 (cayman) porsche, they are built to allow a driver to wear a helmet while sitting relatively upright rather than a super reclined position with your legs folded up around the wheel. as you get old, all i can think of is the leg cramps. so for me, these cars are pretty to look at, not something i want to drive on a normal basis.

This is one of my biggest beefs with modern cars. Often when I rent a car, I cannot get the seat into a comfortable position. I'm only 5'8", but I learned to sit up and pay attention when I drive and it is quite obvious that lots of cars on the market today are designed to be driven at a slouch (with your knees on either side of the steering wheel, as noted). The problem, in particular, deals with crash test head injury data. In order to shorten the distance from the rear of your head to the headrest, headrests are now angled so that the bottom is closer to the rearmost part of your skull. This maintains a particular spacing that gives good crash test results if you are a slouching driver. If you sit upright, however, this places the headrest on the back of your skull. Why people what to drive as if they are in a movie theater is beyond me.
