Too many projects and not enough time…or money. Still on the fence but I figured I'd see if there was any interest. I can email additional pictures.

Background / Details:

The car was first sold in Santa Monica and has lived in CA its entire life. I bought it about 8 months ago with the intention of doing a resto-mod build, utilizing a 135i drivetrain (crazy, I know…but I build rally cars so not impossible).

The car had a non-functioning auto trans when I bought it. I replaced the auto trans with a used (previously rebuilt) auto trans (I cleaned the engine bay and took a lot of pictures). Engine and trans are in the car but I have not completed re-connecting everything to ensure it runs and drives again (if I can find the time I will button everything back up).

Prior to replacing the trans, the engine ran great and appears to have been well taken care of. The AC is out of the car but I have the compressor and condenser, though I’m not sure of their working order.

The previous owner kept most service receipts etc. It has a virtually new NOS exhaust and muffler. Aftermarket front and rear sway bars. There is a medium sized milk crate with spare parts, some new.

The car was repainted a number of years ago.

Rust Details:

I pulled the tar pads off the shock towers and there is some rust. Driver side appears to be rusty but solid, no holes. Passenger side has a couple small holes.

The firewall behind the glove box is pretty solid with a quarter sized rust spot but it does not appear to be a through hole. The firewall and a-pillar on the driver side appears to be very “dry” with only surface rust.

There is some rot on the lower fenders but the rest of the car (floors, rear shock towers etc.) seems very solid.

It’s a perfect candidate for a full restoration.

Some additiona info and pictures.

Car is a 1970

VIN is 2280106

When I replaced the non-functioning auto trans, I took a couple photos of the engine bay. You can see the original paint color, which i believe was Nevada.

Here are some pictures of the firewall behind the glove box and driver side access panel. I also tried to get some pictures of the inside of the A-pillar section, behind the fenders as I know those can be problem areas.

I aslo have a picture of the trunk floor attached.

Update - The car is for sale and up on craigslist.

The engine and trans are back in and the engine is running. I still need to button a couple things up so I haven't road tested it yet....hopefully by this weekend.

The previous owner wired up a remote start button, which leads me to believe that the starter relay isn't working consistently.

Open to reasonable offers.

Car is up again for sale in Bev. Hills:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-Other-c...17fde4037&item=281318146103&pt=US_Cars_Trucks

a bit history on the car when I saw it being for sale back in 2013:
it was for sale in Irvine (before Asutherl bought it) for $3500 (I have no idea how much it was sold to Asutherl for)

car had A LOT of RUST back then, so I would be careful, especially that there are no "money shots" of the 'bay, 'towers etc.

This seller has sold a few coupes both on Craigslist and Ebay. Buys them, repaints them and doubles his investment.
