I know this is a long shot but I need it to complete restoration.
Bought a new one years ago from Mobile Tradition and on installation found that on winding the window up, as soon as the handle is released, it unwinds against the spring and the window drops.
Any thoughts on that feature would be appreciated as well.
Thanks,
Tom.

You might need to flip the spring 180 degrees so the spring is assisting with winding the window up and not down. The spring tension should be relaxed with the window in the up position. Is the part number still on the regulator? Left side ends in 100, right side 101.

Best, krauser

Just when you think you have BMW’s part numbering figured out, they flip odd and even. Almost every part that is odd is left hand and even is right. These are one of those exceptions, but why?
