Anyone have an extra one?

I ran into the handle bar of my grandsons scooter and put a bullseye impression into my front trim.

W&N has new ones, but I can't speak for how good the fit is.
I had three (used) front belt line trims at hand when I had my project going, none of them were exactly the same so I had to sand and polish the one that was the closest match to my car, even if that one of course was the most pitted and worn one.
Don't know if anyone else have had this experience?

Your piece looks salvageable, sure there's someone here that may want it.

Probably someone could salvage it. The metal seems compressed and stretched. I tried as best I could (limited tools and skills) without damaging it even more for now.

I had a lot of trouble sourcing an original one. Postage is also a killer.
You may be able to knock out that dent from behind so I'd look into that first.

New ones will have trouble fitting around the ends as it doesn’t lay against the fender too well, it’s a bit upright if that makes sense.

I was thinking the same, that it could be straightened by a good body man (it is aluminum, you know...) I have a pretty nice one that has a couple of scratches, and couple of rock hits, but yours looks shinier, and thus probably better condition overall except for the bullseye...Worth a try.

How could a Mini Micro do any damage?
Take it to a desperate for work, no weddings at present, independent jeweller. They may welcome the chance to work on something different and it may be way cheaper than a new trim that is a doubtful fit, expensive shipping and possibly mismatched chrome.

I too would think that a skilled shop is able to get it straight & nice again. For a cost that might be comparable to a new part, you get to keep the original part, and keep the rest of the fitment. And your dented part probably matches best to the level of 'patina' the rest of your trim has.

Good testimonial. I knew they did good work; nice job. In the category of mission creep, might as well send all pcs, as the box is funky big anyway, and then it will all match...:)

Doug-- All of my trim is also still off. Let's put them together and send them to Speedway for restoration. I like the idea of them having a nice shine.
