I’ve got one I haven’t used, I’ll dig it out and post a photo of what’s in it so you can see if it’s any use to you.

That has saved many hours of head scratching
Good to know that she’s spring loaded too , I don’t fancy that flying off around the garage.
Thanks !!
I just ordered the PMB Performance rebuild kit .
So I should be good to go as soon as it arrives.

Pmb did a good job of explaining the valves purpose, and threw in a little humor.
Continue to appreciate the Great knowledge base on this forum guys!

This brings up a question......how do you know when it is time to rebuild this if ever? Symptoms? I was wondering about this when Drew Gregg was reporting his pulsing brake issue, ie if this could be the culprit with sticking, erratic function.

I think my one spent some time on the titanic.
So I’m just playing it safe to be honest.
My car hasn’t been driven since the mid 90’s. So I’m fairly sure mine is due a refurbishment.

I thought the forum standard was a quarter-sawed oak background for re-done parts? That may be gum wood. Anyway, what are the symptoms of a non-functional valve?

PMB link above does a good job of explaining what happens, assuming Porsche translates to BMW. It's all German right?

With mine, after I replaced the rear hoses, I had no flow to the calipers. My really old hoses decayed inside and released small pieces of rubber that migrated up to the valve, plugging it completely.

The other issue is the condition of the interior bore.

Here's a picture of the kit I bought:

I think the same basic valve is found on the VW411/2, Porsche 914 and 105 series Alfa Romeos - that may give you more options for a replacement, though some seem to have only one outlet port, and if the bore if pitted, you'll probably need to have it resleeved.

My kit was planned for a Volvo Amazon. Fitted ok.
If anyone is really interested I will look up the details, it was very cheap If I recall properly.
