It's been some time since I have been on this forum. Hopefully many new members with interesting screen names have joined.

Nicad was not taken, so that is how it came to be. It is a random name. On other forums I have chosen Lettuce for the same reason. Had to use Lettuce2 because someone else was the real Lettuce.

Once tried to choose Labrador. It was taken, so I used the handle Abrador.

Back when I first started out on Compuserve, everyone used their full names on the CARS forum. I'd imagine they wore a tie too.

I needed something that would be easy for me to remember and that was BMW related, getting old.

Besides numerous work ID's (some I created, some I was assigned), online account names, and
other forum names, it has just gotten too much to keep up with now.

And you have to remember passwords too...

Simple, no explanation needed and not interesting.

When I first signed up for compuserve I tried to use my last name, Spornitz, but it was kicked back because of the second through fifth letters. Whaaaa???

So, in coming up with something else I combined Bimmer with Bill, my first name, and came up with bimbill. Also, I believe strongly in the importance of never taking ones self too seriously so the fact that it sounds a little like bimbo was a bonus.

My daily driver is a Lexus IS350 and I had picked the name IS3FIFTY when joining the Lexus forums back in 2007. It's been my alias on all the forums I have joined ever since. :-D

Ok I'll play. Mine is my ebay name from 1999, from a college nickname (long story), and like others I have used same for all car, guitar, and other forgotten hobby forums I have joined since. I'd change it to something cool like "Zundfolge" if I could.

63split is a reference to my corvette. I think almost everything with 63/split is taken in the corvette forum, but not here!

I choose mbmw for two things: First my name is Markus , therefore the m in front of BMW. I own several BMW Motorsport cars. (CSL's, M1, M5, M635). So it could also be for BMW Motorsport. I also own a shop which does BMW work here in Canada.

My initials, A.D.A., and first 3 letters of my last name, Wilson, the 2002 is of course for the E114 and being an '02 geek.

About 3 weeks too late...

As a younger man I ran off to join the Foreign Legion, eventually ending up in the kingdom of Eritrea. Whilst taking a rest behind an overgrown ruin I stumbled across an ancient horde of gold and made my fortune. Hence the "Rich" part. Now, with time on my hands, I became an avid collector of books, especially early twentieth century first editions. I became obsessed by the Chronicles of Narnia and just had to hunt down and acquire a full set. My love of CS Lewis (or CSL as he's known in collecting circles) cost me my fortune, and my sanity. I can now be found spending hours in a cold garage "fixing" an old car that will never truly be fixed. My only solace being my love of CSLewis and my Legionnaire's nickname Rich tattooed across my left buttock. Obvious really

I've owned a 1966 Sunbeam Tiger for many years. That engine throws off a lot heat...like a toaster...and Sunbeam makes toasters.

hi all, newbie here.

i've been using carreracat for years on forums and it comes from the car i had at the time, an '86 911 3.2 carrera and because i was working on fast cat high speed passenger ferries at the time.

if i'm honest i kinda wished i just used my real name now, but it's been so long that it seems a shame to change it now.

well i'm not new ... and mine kinda falls in line with others - my initials are RSP ... and my daily driver is a porsche 911s ... and RS is a cool version of a 911 ... so it got mashed up.
