Went to Santa Rosa this morning to meet the BMWCCCA group heading for their Pacific Northwest rally. Great seeing old friends like like Chris and Shawn Macha as well as meeting @BarneyT and Dirk DeGroen.

Poor quality pic but here is local couper Zach (sorry forgot his last name) in a beautiful csi behind Barney (notice the third brake light *below* the regular ones!). Leading the parade is Dirk in his Inca Targa ‘02. Can’t see him here but @HB Chris is in front of the white ‘02 in his NK.

I drove through that same tree in my Coupe, back in '89 I think was. Was the last straw for my original Boge rear shocks. Found replacement at Dick Smothers Auto parts, Near Napa, where we were staying at a B&B. Mentioned "situation" to owner over dinner. He then revealed he had this Porsche "out back" with a fully kitted out shop and I was welcome to do the install using any tools I needed. Nice! Oh, the wine was great too! ;)

Did an old car drive w friends north of Boston and into southern NH. Was supposed to be sunny. That’s Jim Stein in his immaculate 2002ti. The up side: finding out my wipers still work (but pretty noisy) and the car got an unplanned wash.

I actually worked on it! I have been distracted with work, house stuff, the 1600 and a new-to-us 1967 hot rod beetle for Amy. But no excuses. The fact is, my pace on the coupe chassis work stinks. I am working on a new plan that might help accelerate my progress. But for now, I am so happy to have spent a wee bit of time on the floor where I left off. Details...

Did it without my coupe there, but was honored to tour Peter Glesson‘s BMW collection today with the BMW classic club while we were on our Pacific Northwest tour… many thanks to Peter for sharing his time with us, he was a very gracious host and his passion / love of the cars shows through his actions.

Tried starting it for the first time in a couple months and it won’t run:( I think the fuel lines have gone dry in the heat. I think it’s time to go through all that and add an electric pump at the tank.

Alvaro ( @alprada70) sent me his turn signal gaskets. I noticed water spots in the plastic lenses during the Legends & Amelia recent events.
His closed-cell foam gaskets fit perfectly and they replaced the hard, skinny, probably 50-year-old gaskets that let in that moisture.
