So I've started the hunt for an E9 I would like to use as a daily (or as often as possible) and am trying to find a rust free or as clean a car to start with. My goal ultimately is to put a early M5 motor in it, and am doing my home work now to see the best options, but I figure I might as well ask to see if there is anyone that has already started this project or has this already done that might be looking to sell. I 'm not looking for a concourse car, but a clean driver, i'll probably end up painting it and redoing the chrome if its too rough. I know people get sensitive about messing with classics, but I don't see anything wrong with bolt ons, particularly if its a non numbers matching car like my vette with no documentation. If there aren't any available would some of you that have something as described above be willing to share some info and mechanics?
