Early cast aka “solid” MOMO hub, 1960s-1970s production. Great original condition. I believe it's originally an E3/E9 hub but has been modified with a 2002 horn pin. Fits BMW 1600/2002 models as-is, or E3/E9 but with a different horn contact ring/pin setup. Perfect period-correct way to mount your vintage MOMO.

UPDATE: quoting resident expert JohnP for the full rundown on this hub:
"That IS a 153 hub for e9, but if you take the horn ring off there is a hole where the wire goes, they just stuck a 2002 pin in there. I believe the same could be done vice versa to a 152 hub, but it’s still technically a 152 hub for 2002. They both have the same spline so that is how the interchange change is possible. There is of course a longer 153 hub, but my guess after having a few dozen of both go through my hands is that they were essentially the same hub, but at the end of the assembly line they were stamped either 152 and got the pin placed or if stamped 153 got the contact ring."

#153 is the 02 hub and #152 for the E9. Waldek's horn rings are designed for Petri hubs. But it isn’t hard to fabricate a horn ring for the Momo hub.

In that case, I will keep the hub and run it in my 02. What a great discovery! Thanks Keshav.

I still don’t know what the difference is between a solid 152 and 153 hub, but the splines are the same. I see 153’s with rings and buttons, and my 152 has a button (they all had buttons).

My disclaimer is that it isn’t necessarily “easy” to fit a brass ring on this hub. All of the factory brass horn rings are too big. That includes Wladek’s Petri ring which uses factory brass. The collapsible momo ring is too big, and Porsche rings are too big.

I ended up cutting mine out of brass sheet.

I have a bunch of 152’s currently but have a 153 on the way and confirm measurements - if there are any other nerds out there that care :D

Thank you, good sir! Please do reply to this thread with measurements when your 153 hub arrives, I'm curious how they compare. Appreciate all the info.

Here comes a pic, that shows the hole for the wire in a 153 hub. It is a bit smaller in diameter than in the 152, so the original 152's horn pin doesn't fit without some rework. There is also no rectangular plane around the hole like in the 152.
The other dimensions of the 152 and 153 I have here, are the same.
