Hey fellow gear heads

I’ve decided to not move ahead with my project E9 and sell it to somebody who has more love and deeper pockets than me.

I bought this 1972 but from the owner who purchased and imported it from Germany to Canada in the early 80s so it’s a true euro spec car.
When he imported it they made some mistake which saved him some tax $$ so the ownership shows 1970 but it’s actually a 1972.
Who knew they only 6506 3.0 CSi?

Car is rough and needs complete restoration or a great resto Rod car.

Comes with front spoiler and 14” original Alpina wheels as well as the E30 wheels I put on to roll the car.

Can somebody give me an idea what this car should sell for and what I should be asking for it?

I put it on Facebook and a local buy and sell and my phone is litterly exploding with messages.

For the right price I’ll include an extra used rear end, what looks to be new 4 speed transmission, and factory service manual, and 2 original keys.

Put it on bringatrailer. It will sell for between 4k and 20k. It only takes two brave souls with an itchy mouse finger to drive it up. You will need many pics of the bottom, rockers, etc.

Do CSL owners a favor and sell the five hole factory CSL Alpinas before it goes to the next unsuspecting buyer. They don’t add to the value for whoever is buying this car, because the buyer is new to e9’s. To a CSL owner, the unrestored wheels are worth around $2,500. You can get any set of rollers for $300 or so, and it looks like you may already have some.

tagging @tferrer first, but I know other CSL owners who could use these.

100 percent agree. Those wheels are the most valuable part of the car. If you got 5k for the rest of what's left, then $7500 is a pretty good total for what I see ( I see bumpers and trim that folks may find useful).

This idea has crossed my mind. I just might go that route with the new ish transmission and factory repair manual as well.
Thanks

Ha ha. I don't know that it is "special". Certainly not like those Alpina wheels. It just looks like a nice wood shift knob which is something I don't have but would like for my coupe. I think these are still made new, but something with patina is a nicer fit, I think.

EDIT: Just to clarify my comments, when I wrote I don't have a shift knob, I mean I literally don't have a shift knob. My car came with a torn Triumph knob just resting on the top of the shifter - loose because it didn't fit. Just a fun fact. If anyone needs a torn leather Triumph knob, I may still have it.

If anybody is interested in the car, here is a link to a local ad and a YouTube video.
