Selling a vehicle long distance

I would like to ask a question for those who have first hand EXPERIENCE selling vehicles long distance.

1. Preferred method of payment

2. How did you handle transfer of title and other documentation

3. How did you handle vehicle transport, specifically in relation to title transfer

Not sure this helps much but when I sold a 2002 through eBay the buyer put a $500 deposit through paypal then sent me a cashier's check. I made sure the check was good and mailed him the title. He actually dropped the ball on the transportation and I ended up arranging it for him, which was just a couple phone calls on my end.

We had spent quite a bit of time corresponding through email prior to him being high bidder, then more time afterwards. The deal worked because we trusted each other. Not familiar with escrow accounts, etc.
