I got a >74 grille from W&N today. It is noticeably bigger in the alu frame than the stock unit. It would thus protrude much more than the stock one. The black ribs are OK.
Wonder if Maximilian has NOS or these recently produced ones...??

Haven´t decided wheather to mount it or return it.

When I replace these types of things.. I try to do so in pairs....
I've found the look of a new part next to a used one makes it look odd.

But I recognize the $$ for grills are not trivial, so.... No real good answer -

New front centre grille

Sorry for not being clear (and misspelling).
It is the central grille that I am discussing. I agree with you on the pair issue.

I exchange my central grille with a W&N one, and I am satisfied

I agree with your comments, but think that you will not have both (the old and the new) together to compare them in the car :-D

farewell

New and old stock centre grilles

I found an old, later style front centre grill (with black ribs).
It is the same size as the early all alu grilles.
I don´t know why BMW or W&N opted for a much thicker frame when they reproduced them a few? years ago.....
The smaller ones look better (but who outside this forum could tell the difference....?)
