Okay so last week thursday (3/26) I replaced both the battery and the starter on my 72 Bavaria since both were tested at a local autoparts store and both failed
I installed both new starter and battery and didnt try turning it over

This week I tried turning the car on and it would die after 1 or 3 seconds.

I checked ignition coil (sparks)
checked spark plugs (sparks)
disconnected the hose after the fuel filter and have gas pressure
moving. I tried turning on the car stepping on the gas a little and I do see some gas being sprayed into the carbs

If i try stepping on the gas while trying to turn the car on it dies.

It sounds like the carbs are getting too much air maybe?

Any input would be greatly appreciated because this is driving me crazy.

Before the battery and starter went bad on the car it was running great!!!
last time I drove the car was 3/24

1+ on leak since you may have created one during installation of the starter. Also make sure all ground cables are clean etc. Lastly, my fuel pump pumped when I removed the output hose but it was still the problem and it came about quickly rather than gradual. I assume you did not put the smaller 5 series starter in, more powerful and smaller=easy to put in and remove.
