Rather than buy a new MPC at an insane price, if they're even still available now, I had my unit dismantled and had a specialist diaphragm maker manufacture one for me in the UK. It's also impossible to find one used I've discovered.

After a long drawn out and pretty expensive process it's now back together and working perfectly, and I can now produce probably a handful of these with the soft tool which has been made for me.

I thought I may as well offer these to anybody who may be in need now, or would like a little insurance policy for the future. I had to pay someone to dismantle and reassemble the unit so you're on your own in that department, I can't advise you there, but there are excellent guides on the net for the likes of Porsche 914s and other DJet cars. Although the process cost me a lot, if someone could do it themselves they would save a packet.

A cracked diaphragm is apparently one of the most common causes of the failure of these units, and it's also easy to test if the diaphragm is cracked but sucking on it to see if it holds a vacuum.

I was thinking 25 pound sterling a piece.

Let me know if anyone's interested, and I'll answer any questions to the best of my ability.
