When you speak to people from the Netherlands they often refer to themselves as Dutch from Holland, not Netherlanders from the Netherlands.

Well, this is because (at least in english, 'Netherlanders' don't exist... It would be 'Nederlanders', but that's in Dutch and there is no word for 'Dutch' in... Dutch!
