Hi all I have a 73 Bavaria and bought what is indicated as the correct OEM product for peel-and-stick hood insulation. I’ve removed the old insulation and am getting ready to apply the new one but when I just set the pieces on the hood the fitment looks poor, especially as to the two smaller pieces. It looks like those pieces will be a bit of a struggle to fit in their corresponding spaces while the larger piece seems to fit well within in its space. Anyone dealt with this issue before? Does this look correct? Thanks!

Well, you can
1) Return if you have not used any glue and buy one from Classic 9 shop
2) Cut to fit

Classic 9 fitting is on-point as I made the templates for them 10 years ago when I needed new insulation and did not want the dealer foam (which starts to disintegrate upon opening).

Thanks. I might try to trim the smaller pieces a bit. And then if these fail I’ll try the Classic 9 ones you mention.

I got the foam for my 2002, with peel off backing, from rogerstii. Their photo seems to show correct shape and fitment. I was suspicious of another supplier's as the center piece looked like a square shape while factory is not. Quick delivery, but not cheap, no surprise, for three pieces of almost weightless foam. I was probably paying for the weight of the box.
