Help with roof sill chrome removal

Can somebody please tell me the secret to roof sill chrome strip removal that does not result in destruction of the chrome (is that possible)? I am assuming the Bav is similar to the coupe.

I should twist up from the bottom and in towards the center of the car, start at one end, once it starts it should pop off no problem
