Gertag 5 speed ID

[ES 1800]

I bought this transmission several years ago. The paper label that was on it has deteriorated. Can anyone tell me by looking at the case if this is a 5 speed with an OD? (I looked at all of the transmission pictures in Media tab, but none is labeled as to what they are.)

I realize I can figure it our by turning the input shaft, but thought maybe it's recognizable by the case.

You should include the numbers cast on the housing I think the use of Allen bolts to hold the rear case on says it's a dogleg with a direct drive 5th. I think

Easiest ways to tell is first, the reverse light switch location. Above the top left bellhousing nut, overdrive, behind it, dogleg.

Second, the bolts line up on the 265/5 for the 5th gear section while they’re offset on the 265/6 (overdrive). Additionally, the shift platform/console is attached with bolts that thread into ears on the back of the case on the 265/6 and is attached with long bolts through non-threaded holes with nuts on the end for the 265/5.

Also worth pointing out that it has been worked on by someone not the brightest. Someone took the output flange off and put bolts through it, obviously not understanding how the flex disc works. Between the deeper output flange and the motronic bell housing, that likely has a welsh plug in the speedo drive hole and as such won’t have the gear on on the output shaft for the speedometer drive.
