Need to source shoes, wheel cylinder, and drum for a 2800cs. Anyone have a good (economical) source here in the US?

I can recommend Automotive Friction in Damascus, Oregon for your brake shoes. Send them your old units and they will re-line them with your choice of material. The phone is 503-353-7595. I have used them for years with excellent results.

Shoes and, I think, wheel cylinders are the same as E21 320i's and should not be hard to find.

Drums are NLA. Maybe you could get a machine shop to redrill E21 drums? I know people redrill wheels to change from 4-lug to 5-lug.

In the long run, it may be cheaper to find used 3.0CS rear swing arms and swap to rear disks.

I think the first thing you should do is check with Carl Nelson at Lajolla Independent:

Also Mesa Performance: http://mesaperformance.com/fonelist.html

Between those two shops, someone should be able to tell you if anything new works.

My experience was this stuff was hard to find and not compatible with any other models, except for the E12 520i, which I don't think we ever got here.

I ended up re-using my shoes, they were still serviceable. The cylinders I bought new, even though I only needed one.

If you'd like it I'd ship the extra cylinder I have for $80.
