I know the driveshaft has to be shortened, but does my speedo work with that transmission or is the 79 635 trannsmission speedo drive electronic?

Anything else in the conversation that would need to be modified?

You also need to use a different shift linkage, since the transmission is longer.

You can use the 79 635 shifter parts, but you will have to mount the rear of the shift tower to the body or fabricate a brace to support it from the rear end of the trans.

1976 635 Euro

The 79 635 is a Euro with a dogleg transmission. If you still have the car take the linkage and drive shaft and you will be alright. Also, there should be a 3.07 rear end in it with LS (aka-the true) always a good thing to have. If you use your present drive shaft... I recomment putting in an overdrive transmission. If you use the 79 stuff you will need the driveshaft and the 3.07 because of the buzzing from the engine on the highway... it will rev high. Ask me how I know. LOL. The speedo is cable connected on a 79' it should be a straight forward operation other than that. HTH. Coupes Up...!
