It's ironic...if profit was the bottom line then Porsche could never assemble a car that way....

Think of it as each person was climbing their own personal mountain to make sure cars were built that way.

I am sorry to say that new cars make me feel embarrassed to tell anyone I enjoy the car hobby. Just pieces of transportation or political pawns to the masses.

Sorry for the rant..

Thanks Steve, really cool footage, I think inside factory footage like that is pretty rare for Porsche. Even when I was there a few years ago they were very particular when and where you could take pictures. I guess the 356 build technology is nothing worth stealing ideas from anymore LOL... if anything it's exactly the opposite of how they build a car today. Mercedes factory was night and day, all robots, pretty crazy....but the Porsche motors we saw being assembled were all still built by hand, not sure if that is the case anymore, that was about 8 years ago or so, maybe a little more?

Really enjoyed watching this.

Real cars made by real people, no wonder they are loved as works of art all over the world.

Wouldn't it be nice if we had such E9 footage as well.

With respect, Porsche is not much different than any other major manufacturer, in that they prefer to tightly control the message so that it promotes the mystique and sales. Such control no doubt covers guarding secrets too. ;-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0bRcqKpq3Y

FWIW, here is a look at rival Ferrari: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6n1lEHCFM0 and Mercedes AMG: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xuc8sVERy6Q and BMW:

BMW Museum. For many, "the" money shot is 9:00 :) (Some may notice the trapezoid mirror, although dQ may want to avert his eyes at the sight of the windshield wiper configuration.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZe31-CoDqk
