Chris Auty aka Ski coach Passed Away

Received the sad news from Alex Auty. Chris passed away today December 30th 2021, he was 67. He had been diagnosed with cancer in August 2021.


He was one of my best friends, this is how I will remember him. Having fun & loving life.

Wow sad news and so fast! F*ck cancer!

Chris helped me a number of times over the years with odd steering wheel request. I even sent him calipers for him to take parts measurements for me. Great guy and excellent taste in autos. He will be missed!

Oh no! So sorry to hear about this, Andrew. I think we only met a couple of times in person, but that dancing video pretty much sums it up. He pursued his passions with abandon, which we all need to emulate.

He was one of a kind, sincere, helpful, and a friend to many, he will be missed. It is so sad that he found out he had cancer in August and he couldn’t join us at Hilton Head in November although Mario brought his 1600GT for him but due to the rain it did not make the field. Rest In Peace.

I’m so sorry to hear the news.
So fast, just 4 months!

He had great taste in cars and friends.
I’m glad to have been a small part of his BMW circle.

Just make sure you and Stan buy all his cars so they stay “in the family” so to speak.

Despite us both being local NorEast E9ers, I didn't know Chris well, but he was always a hoot to be around when I saw him at events. What a damned shame.
