Bill Young collection

Guys,

The Gooding auction is on the Friday, always is.

They only put up one picture and Vin until they are ready to go to print and then you will get more pictures and some info, totally normal for Gooding. When the rest of the information is available you will have to log in to access everything, if not you just get limited info.

Yes, this is the Bill Young Collection.

Anybody know what color that Vin should be?

Thanks

It's held at the Omni and we'll probably go straight there when we roll in from wherever we stay Thurs night.

Nash,

My guess for the original color is Golf. It is also one of the three "official" colors for the carb CSLs. No official black version, but one client request.

Nash,

My guess is based on the "sister car" just before in this VIN range. That CSL was Golf (but is currently Colorado or Inka). These two CSL VINs were a little bit isolated. Four normal CS before and five after. Logically these two carb CSL VINs were ordered more or less at the same time.

Therefore, they could have been ordered with the same color. But, remember these were those days in the 70s, were almost everything what a customer wished could happen.

The best would be to check the Karmann color plate (close to the left door hinges) or ask the BMW archive. The color plate should be stamped "70" for Golf.

Regards
Henric

Not many in that color. If its the same car, I saw it being advertised by a dealer , this was 8 or 9 years ago . I believe the asking price at the time was about $57k .
