Here are some pictures of the restoration of my CSi

It was originally supplied new in Hong Kong to a millionaire in 1976, fitted with ALL extra's available Air Con, Red Leather, Electric Sunroof, Electric Mirrors, Gunmetal Grey Metallic pint finish, you will note it has a set of CS wheels fitted (by BMW Hong Kong at the purchasers request) the mirrors are very late and not seen on many CSi's the car has had 2 PO before me but had been bodged unfortunately on the roof, wheel arches and normal places so I have now had this all sorted but had to fit a new Webasto roof in place of the electric roof as the roof had gone too far and I couldn't get a new or good second hand one, I'm quite pleased with her now though especially the new leather interior

Told you the sunroof was bodged !!

Wow, that was quite the undertaking. Well done. I like the color combo. Is the sunroof a custom system or from another auto manufacturer?

Stunning work! Well done! Any more pictures of the engine compartment?

Thanks for the positive comments, I am very pleased with the way the car has turned out and here are some engine bay pictures as requested.
Still a bit of work to do but its getting there I think the wheels on the car are a spare set supplied with the car from new (along with the CS wheels which were just being released at the time) I now have the CS ones to refurbish and new types to see which I like best .

Most disturbingly this is how it looked when I bought it and then started digging to reveal the horrors that awaited me above in the pictures !! A warning to everyone that 2 owners, lots of history and a good look doesn't mean a good car

Note the wood covered by fake leather, not a bad job but for me the wood is better now its been re-done and french polished :-D

Carpets looked good but were 50 pence a mtr job from a carpet warehouse really crap, new ones

Sunroof

Wow, that was quite the undertaking. Well done. I like the color combo. Is the sunroof a custom system or from another auto manufacturer?

BMW original steel sunroofs were supplied by Tudor Webasto for fitment, they also provided soft folding roof units to BMW or Retro fitted for BMW agents as per purchasers requirements.

My roof is a Tudor Webasto genuine unit bought from the people who bought out Tudor Webasto and all their drawings and specs so it is AS WOULD HAVE BEEN fitted as option in 1976

What is the yellow valve for? Is that a fuel shut off valve???

I guess that would make a good anti-theft device

The PO had fitted more 'anti theft' devices than I have ever seen :? yet he lived out in the wild's of Scotland so I suspect the chnaces of getting it nicked were remote !! :?

Anyway one by one (including the valve) they are being removed then I'll fit a tracker and decent electronic alarm  just another job on the list
