Apologies for lack of updates on these guys, plenty of things going on lately and unfortunately the coupe has had to take a back seat. Having tried the grille on another front panel, there are definitely some small tweaks to do namely some slight narrowing and realignment of the grille holes. Perhaps an idea to send my spare front panel back with the grille so that they can be test fitted with that

I‘m also interested in one or two with the polished slat shipped to Spain.

Having had a bit of a back and forth with the supplier I'm not entirely sure if the quality is at the level where I'd be happy to supply on these. The main thing being the mounting studs being accurate and general straightness/appearance.

Still trying to find some solutions with it although it's taken a bit of a back burner.

Great challenge and a lot of clarification with the potential supplier - thanks @nosmonkey for you efforts!

Maybe sending them a bolt pattern in a form of wooden form with the holes inside the milled grille shape would help, but as it was mentioned before each E9 might have different opening for the grille with different mounting tabs. Original aluminum grille was "self-adopting" during assembly. It could also be easily bend to fit the holes on the coupe.

They are the same people who do the stainless bumpers that Paul reviewed here:

I have a set as well and I would qualify them as very good repros but not the same as OEM. But unless you are among extremely nitpicky specialists, no one will be able to tell. They are super nice to work with and ship via Fedex from Vietnam. If you buy directly from them, you avoid the eBay fees

Looks like the same photos I was sent during prototyping.

I still have it sitting here, biggest problem was weight (around 1kg from memory), studs being very far out of alignment and the overall shape wasn't consistent enough for my liking.

Had quite a bit of back and forth, I also have a set of their bumpers and needed to cut and re weld the rear bumper mounts about an inch off, was then offered a discounted purchase on a newer design.

Decent enough for the price, but having customers be a guinea pigs for R&D isn't really my thing. In hindsight I should have gotten my originals re chromed

I put the links exactly due to the process @nosmonkey has described on previous pages.

It was expected they will correct design before it will become an official product but they skip it probably - not a good sign.

The same with the bumpers (acc to fitting issues).

Most of us were expecting design corrections to be able to treat it as fully functional spare part.

Maybe one day...

Great idea! Please ask about the option of anodizing the slats black for Csl‘s.

thanks
Hello, you don't need to do anodizing, there os a coting called CERAKOTE they have 2 kind of ceramic coating that lass longer than anodize and can use a mat black, I spray on my bumper it look amazing, it is like a paint but you have to have a spray gun , I spray shine silver on my front grill and I spray my front and back frame and other parts under the car, it stay very long time and prevent the rust, any time I wash it look like new, use it you will really like it, many hand company don't use a anodise now they spray CERAKOTE, I spray on my exhaust manifold didn't change the color in that high heat.
