This is a super unique 5 speed manual transmission European version E23 chassis 735i Euro. Whay am I posting here? Well as a former CS owner I strongly believe the most sensible use of this car is a driveline transplant for a CS coupe. First and foremost I will say that I just completed a 700 mile road trip in this car, had the valves adjusted when I returned and can attest to the great running of this car. frankly It is the best running and driving car I have right now and it will pain me to let it go but as I said, the most sensible fate for this driveline is a CS. [I may put it in my Baur 318i or my other 348K miles 735i 5 speed. Let;s see what kind of response I get here first. Ok, so for $1,800 FIRM you get the fab running 218 horsepower, recently rebuilt 3.5 liter engine, great shifting 5 speed transmission with new clutch. You get the driveshaft, rear diff and more ALL neatly packaged in a running driving car with steering wheel, driver seat and all body panels and glass intact...well mostly anyway as the rear corner and door is damaged heavily. The car runs and drives super smooth and straight still. You will also get four wheels and tires so you can drive/move this car around easily too! What you do NOT get is the euro bumpers, headlights and grilles, interior, etc. You DO ALSO get nearly all maintenance records since new. I will also consider selling the whole car as it sits with cd stereo, cloth interior, electric windows, BBS front spoiler, chrome euro bumpers. TITLE IN HAND [salvage], all import papers. QUITE SPECIAL CAR WITH THE RIGHT STUFF FOR AN E9 owner. See this link for all the photos and call me at 650-307-2251 to discuss. Evan

There is the setup, Euro specs motor and 5-speed trans for those who want to build a hot rod. The USA 635CSI-735 3.5 version motor was only about 183 HP. The Euro 3.0CSI with headers is well over 200 HP more than most CSL’s 2958 cc engine with Carbs that only produced 180HP. I have a 1979 Euor 635CSI with the 5-speed trans 1st gear back on the left, these setups are very fast pulled 148 mph once.

two hundred eighteen ponies in an E9

Yes, this car moves even in the tank of a 735i in which it currently resides. A GREAT driveline for a coupe! AND it is easy to ship anywhere in its aforementioned container of an E23. Evan 650-307-2251

One thing you guys should remember is when going to OD 5 speed, you need a numerically higher differential. Highest I have seen for a side loader is a 3:45
