Potential good deal

Let see - one owner car, low miles, looks to be in excellent condition, very stock - the price range seem quite reasonable. There is no way you could restore a car to this condition (again assuming it is as nice at the few photos show, which it may not be) for that kind of money, IMHO. Another way to think of it is, an e9 in mint condition with similar qualities would fetch 2-3 times this price.

What do those low resolution pics show anyway? Can't make out any details at all. 51,500, 151,500, 251,500 miles ??? Not a way to entice potential parties with the short and not to the point descriptions of the car.

Can't argue with any of that. But, the market simply doesn't assign prices that way. Instead, cars typically sell for << the cost of buying and restoring a car in average/poor condition.

The 2013 edition of the "Sports Car Market Price Guide" shows a range of $4,000 - $7,000 for '71 - '74 Bavarias. And, they show $10,000 - $17,500 for 3.0CS. I'll agree that those numbers are low, especially at the high end of the CS range. They do support your "2-3 times" ratio for e9 / e3 prices.

17k for that car is too much.looks like coolant hoses are 42 years old, seats looks like 1968-69 ones, silver grilles are not correct....for that money I'd like something with well done mainteinance or original....
at least sell me tha car with an average radio!
