Is it common for all BMW models (orange switch), or E9 specific?

I might have one but the question is would it be worth to ship overseas.

....there are different Typen! The one for screwing should be the right one for E9

What is electric hook up? I put new switch in and defroster does not work. Not sure if I hooked up wrong? Best way to test where issue is?
