I know this is a somewhat difficult question because a lot depends on what the tire size is as well as the ride height. Will a more modern O.E.M. BMW rim (16” by 7” with 20mm backspacing) fit on our coupes without rolling the wheel opening lips ? Thanks :) ~ John Buchtenkirch

For a 16 by 7" wheel the front needs an offset of ET11, ET20 might cause problems. Rear with 16 by 8" uses ET24.

rim offset

I'm using Rikken rims 16x7 with et20 and 205 55 16 Hankooks and have no problems. I did roll my front fenders but they were off and it was the golden opportunity time to do it. I have even tried the 225 50 16s with these rims and everything seems to clear. Best of luck John, sounds like you are dedicated and have a lot of talent also, keep us informed on how things go. Regards, Leroy
