Hi,
Sometime back my speedo died on me, I suspect the gear in the gauge has come loose. While it's out for repair I plan to replace the speedo cable with a new one that I've had for a few years. Does anyone have tips or tricks on replacing the cable? The last time I was under the car there seemed to be a tube that the cable feed through. Is it as simple as unbolting it from the tranny and pulling the old one out from under the dash and feeding the new one it? I have a 5 speed if that makes a difference

Thanks

On my car (CSi -74) I unscrewed it from the back of the speedo and pulled it up from there. And then fed the old one out the same way.

I did not have a tube, the speedo wire itself is in sort of a tube and was delivered such.

No special tricks, you just need long and nimble fingers to unscrew it and screw it back on.
