Just got a replacement rubber hose to replace the old cracked one. Gas tank is almost empty.
Should there be a little space between the filler neck and the gas tank neck or is it ok for the two to be touching?
Should I apply a thin layer of adhesive to the inside of the hose before clamping it in?

Doesn't seem too complicated, are there any do's or dont's?

Thank you in advance
