I thought I bought the correct fixings for this job, do they attach to the car door and then the trim slides onto them ? They won't sit tight in the trims but I guess might when expanded by the door sheet metal.

yes they are the right clamps to fix the chrome rail to the top of the door

as here,

to be honest i do not remember if i placed them (only a bit) in the door upper lip, or completely into the chromed rail,

then place the rail over the door upper lip and tap evenly all of them into final position

hope another member can chime in and comment

Hi DeQ - nice doors you have there - that rubber strip you have remade was mostly intact in my car thankfully. You did a great job!

John, did you send me a PM as I dont seem to have one?

Ill ry putting them on the door first as they are too loose in the chromed trim.

Thanks,

ROhan
