Max Conover from Maximillian recently asked what parts need to be made for our e9s. Put your thoughts on this thread but please, make them reasonable. I will start with door seals including the surround, the door trailing edge and underneath. Unreasonable I think would be tail lights with bulb holders, way too complex no expensive.

Do you mean the rubber "wind splitters" as on the CSLs?

Suspect he means either the inner or outer fender sections. The splitters are available but those metal sections AFAIK are not being re-manufactured. If they were available it would be a bit of a game changer for saving some coupes.

My suggestion is a re-pop 38cm Petri to complement the existing hub that's available and perhaps an exact copy of the CSL headliner. Think the wheels would sell well and also perhaps the headliner.

I like the headliner comment but the Petri is too iconic and I am sure he isn’t interested in trademark issues.

Well then, if he can do complete floors, how would front fenders then be? Roughly same size, same investment, but likely smaller market?

ofcourse less e9's, but sales price could make it interesting? I'm seeing a NOS fender advertised for 3500 euro now in Germany ( I know, asking price likely is not sales price)

Secondly, how about the thick metal reinforcement in the strut tower?
Not available elsewhere, but no too difficult to fix as welding thick steel is easy. being a thick plate it would require some serious tooling, so that is likely why it is not economically viable.

Thirdly, and most interesting perhaps:
I myself struggled to create the horizontal floor section under the corners of the rear seat, where the thick vertical metal pins go through the floor holding the rear axle. It's a complex 3d section, about 1 by 1 foot would do, and no-one makes it. All known floor replacement parts end just shy of this problem area.
It is an open area under the car, close to the wheels, with originally a foam that disintegrates and soaks up water. One of the first places where rusts starts on e9's is my experience.

Wasn't that only one side with modifications required for the other?
Hi , the chrome sill trims are universal, so they fit either side .
Apparently walloth and nesch stock them also but they are made by Kastelik

I believe he sources the sheet metal parts from Vietnam, over 400K 2002s were sold in the US.

Please keep in mind Max Connover is a retailer and NOT a manufacturer. Like Jaymic, Walloth-Nesch & Blunttech. They all sell the same things with different profit margins.

Is Max looking for smaller items to 3D print or something similar?
