Hi
My Golf CSL finally made it back on the road after some very serious surgery, all sorts of transplants and a cosmetic makeover.
The pictures show the story really - plus show how rust can be hidden on these cars. But now it has reemerged rust free and is a blast to drive (one distance drive so far!).
Thanks for the inspiration and assistance provided by people contributing to this forum, plus Carl and his team at La Jolla Independent.
For the purist it's not original mechanically but for the driver it's great! The main cosmetic difference to original is the lack of chrome wheel arches - I just don't like them on the golf colour.
I hope the pictures help someone else repairing their rust issues... or someone who may want to know what may really be under that "little rust bubble"!
