Agree but under one condition - shipping for CONUS.

Shipping to EU would ruin that unfortunately.

Will the 4barrel intake manifold fit a 323i engine? If it does, I will buy it.
Please PM.
What carburetor would work?

Regards, Alberto

Our own Al Taylor (@Bavman) had one of those manifolds on a Bav he was racing a few years back. I believe he was running a Holley four barrel carburetor.

The manifold appears to be set up for a Rochester Quadrajet, and the carb shown is either a Quadrajet or a clone of one. The tiny primaries and huge secondaries are the tip off.

I think @Mike Goble is running a BMW four barrel intake on his Bavaria. He'd know which carbs would fit, but you can probably use any one with the proper adapter. A four barrel carb would make tuning much easier, but might take out some of the "romance" of multiple, complex carbs.

I am curious about the runner length variance and its affect on mixture per cylinder and if it is significant

I would think the MIXTURE for all 6 cylinders would be the same since they are all fed from the same fuel/air mixer...in fact maybe more even then 3 cylinders fed from one carburetor and 3 from another. The unequal length intake runners may have an effect on cylinder filling and engine efficiency, but that subject is above my pay grade.

Here is a description of my Q-jet installation.
