Change to American English!!!

I have just decided to replace the underhood decals. Is there a correct place for the coolant label to go? I assume the header tank is too hot and it would soon peel off.
Any help much appreciated.

Revert to English English!

Carl has a great diagram but US cars didn't get the Reifenluffdruck sticker and the Emission sticker was found on driver side on some years.

Here are a couple of actual pictures from the German forum, posted a few days ago!
I was sure this topic would come up again. Although in German, they are all pretty self explanatory.
Enjoy!

Would be nice to add this and topics like the kidney grille and other pertinent facts to the "technical info" page.

I've never seen a coolant sticker where it appears on the first photo, most likely because it has a plastic tank with nowhere to stick.

I see your point and agree that it's an odd spot for a coolant sticker (tank looks fairly new) although in the 2nd pic, the same sticker is on the tank itself (haven't seen that either). Judging by its color, it's been on the car for a while.
I'm seeing one of our resident experts tomorrow morning, will try to find out if infact the plastic tanks had the stickers too like all the brass ones did.

Update: As per my resident specialist, the plastic tanks never had a sticker on them. Infact it's questionable whether any E9 had a plastic coolant tank from the factory. If at all, then only the very last few cars produced. Consensus is that all E9 had the brass tanks.

Richard,

You may be correct. The Orange Parts books are dated 11/75 and it shows Fluid Tank Sheet Metal and Synthetic as "By choice." I think since it also shows the US 74 models getting the newer viscous clutch and fan at 4310304 and 4335367, that the coolant tank changed at the same time ( and fan shroud was most likely added). In Europe, all Modell 73 coupes received this upgrade as well.
