My gut feeling says this one is a deal. Worked once so far.

Looks awfully original in most respects. No attempt to tart up the backdrop by shooting it in an empty warehouse or a sexy red brick wall.

If someone wants to PM me the contact info. I can go do an in person inspection this weekend perhaps. The color doesn't do it for me and the door panel seat mismatch is odd, but it does looks solid enough.

Thanks!

CadillacGreen, I'm also in contact (well, in the queue it sounds like) with the owner. I'll post an update when I have it, but I'd definitely appreciate working out a PPI if the more detailed background supports the reasonable pricing. I'm in SoCal and can't make the trip up for a week or so, unfortunately.

Newbie e9

Hey guys, Im brand new to "joining" the board (I've trolled around looking at the classifieds from time to time) and I am really interested in this particular E9.

I probably should do this in the Introduction forum but IM really into this Facebook NorCal car so I'd love to get all of your opinions.

A little bit about me… So I've had a Buick Grand National (super clean and stock only 22k miles) for the past 4 years and a few months ago it was stolen from my gated parking lot in Los Angeles. Anyway I got a car to whip around town just temporarily…an old boxy jeep cherokee, i know not great but awesome because i have a daily driver, which allows me to get another fun weekender.

Ive always loved the e9 and periodically look for them on ebay or on the e9 forums. I have been looking also looking for 60's porsche 912 or 911 too, but no matter what i always come back to the e9.

Here's my thing, I'm not very mechanically inclined, my car knowledge is limited to say the least and i was looking for just a pretty good turnkey driver, that well sorted and could just maintain. Like I wouldn't mind a little patina and am certainly not looking for a concours type car, but I just don't want to get into a big restoration project. After seeing this car I'm wondering if might be light enough for me to handle and throw a few thousand bucks into and have it be exactly what i need it to be, which is fun weekend car that i can cruise in and maybe occasionally track (Very rare).

Anyway Im a super novice when it comes to these cars and all opinions would be greatly appreciated.

We all have different levels of mechanical ability so don't let that discourage you. But since you'll be paying someone else for repairs or maintenance that could otherwise be DIY, the money out will be inversely proportional to your mechanial comfort level/ability. Depending on where you live that may be easily doable. Where I am, specialists at ay cost are few and far between.

The only guarantee is that it will demand a significant amount of mechanical and cosmetic TLC if you drive it.

Does anyone have this seller's contact info? I've been on the hunt for this color combo and am ready to pick this one up if I can get a hold of him!
