I have a 72 CSi Italian delivery w/o the rear fog light . Does it take a mod to the body to install this or is it just a matter of unscrewing the current panel & replace with this panel in order to get the fog lamp setup ?Photos,
I was thinking $1000 for the set
You would have to cut a hole to accommodate the light and drill 2 holes for the mounting screws If your car did not come with the fog light from the factory.I have a 72 CSi Italian delivery w/o the rear fog light . To be honest I don't have that experience with these cars. My car ( a European 1969 2800cs) does Not have a provision for the rear fog in the back panel. The other members may know if the later cars have the cut outI have a 72 CSi Italian delivery w/o the rear fog light . I have seen an aluminum panel that was chrome plated by a chrome shop. I think an experienced shop could do the same to yours.I just installed this rear fog light and (aluminum) panel in my ‘73 Euro (Dutch delivery). The body cutout and attachment holes were already there in the car.
The aluminum panel does not look as nice as the chrome, and I’m think about cutting the chrome panel to install with the fog light.
Any thoughts on this?

Interesting!Chrome plating is possible but aluminum is much flexible than the chrome finish layer. Typically it is not recommended as it may peel off due to bending (even during assembly) or even vibrations and such a panel is prone to all of that phenomenons.
