A very nice fellow on LI sold me a side loader LSD for an early 635CSi.
He sent it packed in a box filled with expanding foam. It took me a good 30 minutes with a pry bar and a snap saw to extricate it from the two ft cube of dense foam. The bag he used was torn and the foam ended up encasing a good 50% of the diff. When it came I contact with the oil/grease that foam hardened up like a rock. Final extrication required a couple of long screwdrivers and a 2lb hammer.
Anyway, the top cast aluminum vent tube was broken (he warned me of this and gave me a good price to make up for it). So, I need a used E24 style bent cover. These were used on e24's AND E12's up to 1982.
