Hello to all,
This is a loooong shot but worth a try!

I'm searching v.hard for a VERY GOOD to NEW CONDITION, 5 black slat kidney, for my CSL.
I'm not looking for one with painted/ pc'd slats.

I have a brand new (unused) 5 slat, chrome kidney (equally rare), that I would exchange for the one I need.
Currently have the 4 black slat kidney in excellent condition in the car, in the kitty too.
Exchange, (part) payment, any or all options viable.
The brand new grille is not for sale on its own though.
To all (hoarders) who might have such a grille on the shelf, please let it go...........it's for a CSL!

Many thanks to all forum members, that make this site so interesting and addictive.

Very kind of you Jes.
That would be the best alternative to finding a brand new one (probably unlikely).
The local shop here wasn't willing to take the trouble of anodizing them, too flimsy etc......
So I ended up powder coating them as a trial run, on an older grille.

I will take you up on your offer if I don't get a 'hit' from my appeal :);) worldwide. That's the best part of this forum, it's a worldwide network.
Obviously my brand new kidney is the perfect candidate for the transplant. (No pun intended as I'm infact a happy/ healthy recipient of a kidney transplant).
Again, Danke vielmals.

I have a brand new NOS silver grille that I plan on annodizing the slats black. My current one is painted and it has held up ok with a few touch ups along the way.

Keshav, you may want to add "black CSL" to your thread title so a casual observer doesn't pass you by...

Steve, That makes atleast the 2 of us with a brand new, extra grille.

The powder coating (my experiment grille) didn't quite give it the sheen that anodizing does and my Tundra green CSL sure needs the 'real deal'! Depending on the light, it goes from dark to light green.
Last month I had both my cataract infested eyes operated upon (side effect of dialysis/ transplant and suppressive medicines) and low and behold, the car color changed from black to Tundra green :)

So folks, it's a TUNDRA GREEN, CSL none the less! (and yes, it's not the original color, Taiga was, don't believe any CSL's were ordered in Tundra green met). A cardinal sin of 20 years ago, one of (too) many in my life!

I'm hoping someone (like us) has the new, 5 black slat CSL grille (hoarded) and will pull the trigger in my favor.

Pics show the CSL color change from light to dark.

If I don't get the right quality grille, I'll take DQ's offer to have the slats anodized in Spain.

Many thanks to all for the help and input.
Stay safe

My local BMW specialist had one saved in his parts store room, didn't want to get rid of it but for the right money will part? I'm seeing him sometime in the next week or so so could ask on your behalf. Let me know what you'd be willing to pay him and we could go from there. It is NOS in original packaging still.

Wow! Now that's something! Hope it's been waiting for me :)
Before I catch the next flight (just kidding), it is infact the 5 BLACK SLAT kidney?
I've sent you a pm so that the world doesn't see my desperation. :(
