That has the large peanut shaped cooling passages which can lead to overheating, sure you don’t want an 82 or later head?

If you really want to split hairs you'll need a date stamp a couple months before your car was assembled

I’ve got one. 74 casting. But it also says “2.8” it does not have the drilled out fuel pump holes.
It’s a rebuilt head. Has what looks to be d-jet intake. I bought the whole engine off Craig’s list over 10 years ago. Seller said it’s was rebuilt. He had plans to stuff it into an e30. The block has “2.8” casting.
Let me know if you interested. I’ll sell it cheap.
John

Thanks Steve. My build date is April 24, 1974. There's a head on Ebay with a 73 date stamp. Is that what you mean or is that too early?

Hi John, I'm very interested! Is the part# the same? Sending you a PM with my info.

Thanks!

Yes so if it matters to you then you'd look for a late 73 or early 74, the number of dots circling around the 2 digit date cast indicate the month
