Was just enlightened this morning that, although not marked as NLA, new tanks and fuel pumps are not to be had and no date posted for availability. Looking for P/Ns 16111110673 and 16121110678, tank and pump for the later fuel injected E9.

I think just thru 9/73 and then the under mount tank 10/74 and on. Edit: Carb only without the early 55l tank.

BTW, (no thread hijacking, think this is relevant) what are people using to replace the foam gasket along the tank perimeter. I had used roof ice and water shield cut in strips but may go 3M strip calk . That foam was a major design flaw.

I hadn’t heard that. I can’t imagine why any would be different.
i remember reading that on this forum ... i had one but it had rusted from the inside out when i checked on it and its in the trash.
according to the orange books, there are 3 - 16111197598 / 16111110673 / 16111112234 ... the last is 72L the first one was CSi only, the latter 2 were CSI / CSiL ... the latter 2 were for 434 / 435 / 4355 / 436 VIN (i am not familiar with the 436 VIN)

436 is a typo, it’s a RHD 74 so should be 433

For carb coupes there were:

16111107592 early 2800 55l
16111110672 2800/3.0 70l
16111112233 euro only 72l (maybe still a top mount)
16111113793 US/NA 72l (bottom mount)

Based on what we have discovered, you are looking for a 70l tank and a 72l suction device, looks like you need 16121107632 instead. Or the 72l tank 16111112234.

I think that @Gransin may have a spare tank in decent shape.

I still have these lying around on the attic, if @Eulean is interested I can take a look and send new photos.

thank you all for your inputs, just checking msgs. Have a plan forward to try and salvage the current tank by welding a patch over the hacked-in fuel pump.

This pic is for your late Friday entertainment... check out the sheetmetal screws holding the pump assembly in. Yes that's fuel leakage around it wrinkling the sprayed bedliner. Customer complained of fuel smell in the trunk ;)
