Unbelievably the roundels sold by BMW and several others, with the raised letters, that are intended to fit the separate rounded "socket" or base, do not properly fit their own OEM bases. They are off by less than one millimeter, but that may as well be an inch for this application.
Reminds of of how Porche's 911 longhood once-again-in-production dashes from the factory do not exactly mate with the holes in the unibody. Hans and Franz from back in the day would have been ashamed of either situation.
Anyway, I'm looking for an OEM old combo of roundel and base in good to excellent or NOS condition. The gasket would be the cherry, but that is less important than the other two.
