I am trying to find sources for the hardware to secure two of the trim pieces for my 72 Bav. I have done some searching but I am unsure what ways I can best secure the C pillar cover and the rear upper chrome strip located at the C pillar. I am willing to use whatever works, whether original BMW or otherwise.

Here are the pieces I am referring to:

Thanks

The chrome strip is held on by studs and nuts which are hidden under the headliner. The black plastic plugs/nuts can be found from BMW, many different sizes were used to attach badges and emblems.

Upon further inspection I realize I have some of the 51141807495 grommets from Wallothnesch but they look different from what looks like the originals. The Wallothnesch ones are a bit too large O.D. and the head prtion is thicker too. I might be able to get them to work with shaving them down slightly and/or using a heat gun to get them to fit but I would have preferred not to. Has anyone had an issue with these?

You can try to reach the chrome strip from the trunk if your arm is long enough. I got away with it. I use 3m strip calk for everything so i put a little ring around each attachment site/grommet for a water seal.

I think he means the chrome strip at base of C pillar not the belt trim. It mounts inside the headliner.

More than one way to skin a cat, I did change mine from access via the trunk, along side the wheel well.
