Sunbeam Tiger had a small block Ford. It was the poor man’s Cobra. I’ve always wanted one. They rust almost as bad as a Coupe :)

The muscle car shop that I worked in a very long time ago finished a customer's Tiger project. The Tiger originally came with a very narrow 260 or 289 Ford V8. The customer thought that all small Ford V8s were the same size and ordered a Boss 351 to go his Tiger. The customer realized that he was in over his head and asked us to finish the project. We actually got the Boss 351 to fit by installing a short dry-sump oil pan, running the headers through the fender wells, and making a mostly new firewall and transmission tunnel. A narrowed Jeep rear axle was installed to handle the extra power. It was frightening to drive. Probably did 0-60 in about 50 feet.

Whoa... that’s a lot of power in such a short wheelbase. I bet it was awesome
