Hi everyone,

This car is not mine but offered for sale by Retro BMW (the guys that repaired mine).

I saw this car yesterday, and for someone here it will be a sound basis for a good car.

This is a genuine 2 owner car from new which had undergone a major restoration by Jaymic (www.jaymic.com) a few years ago. The owner having moved to London for work, left the car up here in Birmingham in excellent working order at a local BMW specialist, but years of outdoor living means that unfortunately, the car is now in need of light restoration as bolt on panels (doors, bonnet/hood, boot/trunk lid) as well as rear arches and roof skin need some TLC/replacing. Another roof skin is supplied within the cost of the vehicle. The other parts may be available from Retro BMW at additional cost. [The guys are a BMW salvage operation and so have most parts for retro and almost current BMWs]

Apart from the items mentioned the rest of the car is in good structural and cosmetic order and surprisingly the paint under the grime still comes up good with a wipe.

Car was last on the road in 2004 and comes with a large folder of receipts and documents, BMW service stamps, almost complete tool kit and leather interior.

The car is being offered to forum members first for £5,000 GBP before being considered for general sale. This one really should not be broken/parted out. Contact the guys on +44 7577 795940 & +44 7445 279925 and they will update you on exactly what they found when it was up on the ramp.

This car really needs a good home.

Thanks for looking

Andrew

A parts car for 5,000 pounds. Do you have any idea how many American anemic dollars that is?

Question

Are the last 19 pictures of the car before Jaymic did the restoration? I'm not sure, but if I left my car in a lot in New York for ten years would it look like that? Maybe? Also, where the gentleman left his car would not the shop owners have said something or at least covered it? It seems such a shame to let any nice car just deteriorate in plain view- In this case an ounce of prevention would have been worth 5000 GBP of "cure".
