Oil pressure blowing oil filter housing gasket

Hi,
I'm having some issues keeping a gasket on the oil filter housing on my M90.
I followed the general recommendation in using 20W50 racing oil.
I replaced the oil pump thinking the relief valve was stuck
I retrofitted a spin on filter set-up but had the same issue with original oil filter housing.
Anybody had a similar issue before? What was the fix?

How much pressure do you have? My M30 runs well over 100# cold, about 70# warm @ 2500 rpm.

I sold two of my spin on filter adapters to 2 E24 guys and they had the same issue. 1st guy used the wrong filter causing the system to pressurize and then cause the O ring to blow out. So, having only had this problem once and resolving it, the second problem then manifested itself. Taking a guess, I kind of thought maybe the filter head was warped. That's what it turned out to be. So once again make sure all surfaces are true, that you are using the proper spin on to fit your adapter and as I said, make sure the "O" ring is correct.
