It’s taken me 9 months since digging her out of the dark warehouse but got her to my coupe whisperer with the first goal being that of running. Then driving. Then we decide what to do.

Pics of the bottom end. Virginal rod caps.
And where she was hidden since ‘96
(From my first e9 coupe post when I found her)

Excellent!

Steve-
I just could not ignore her anymore. The turbo has consumed my time (and $). The pics I saw of your coupe at Eurofest pushed me to action!

So, first cranking, then driving. Mark, the coupe whisperer, thinks I should leave it as is,dust and all, and take her to shows and have a binder that tells her back story.

Just throw in a battery, get some fresh gas and see if she cranks “ they” said.
Nope, not even going to entertain that foolishness.

from my buddy:
“I probably scooped out a half gallon before even starting cleaning and this is after 24 hours of soaking.” More soaking and finally clean.

what about the oil pump?
Looking a tad crusty...

Damn o-ring! Only lasted 47 years...
They’re just not making fuel pumps like they used to. (pun intended)

BIG THANK YOU TO STEVE FOR THE WIRING DIAGRAMS.

Now we have power to the control unit & fuel pump.

Massaging our way through but have come to the conclusion ( after exhausting all the basics) that the board is toast. There was a rumor that an earlier owner had try to jump start but reversed the cables and she never cooperated again. She hums right along until the cold start injector shuts off.

Looking for a replacement d-jet.
Any leads?
